How It Works
Choose a photo
A front-facing photo against a plain light wall, taken by someone else from a few steps away. JPEG, PNG or WebP.
Fit the head
Choose the size, then drag the photo and use Zoom. Where the official head size is known, keep the head between the two ovals.
Print at 100 percent
Create the PDF and print it at Actual size on photo paper. Measure one photo with a ruler before you cut.

Official Sizes and Home Printing
| Document | Size | Head | Background | Home print | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| United States passport | 2 x 2 in (51 x 51 mm) | 1 to 1 3/8 in (25 to 35 mm), chin to top of head | plain white or off-white | Accepted. A friend or family member may take it; print on matte or glossy photo-quality paper. | U.S. Department of State, Passport Photos |
| China visa | 33 x 48 mm | height 28 to 33 mm, width 15 to 22 mm | white or close to white, no frame | Accepted. Print on glossy photo paper; matte or plain paper is not accepted. | Chinese Visa Application Service Center, photo requirements notice (6 March 2025) |
| Czech Republic visa | 35 x 45 mm | face 70 to 80% of the photo, crown to upper shoulders | light, plain | Accepted. No rule against home printing in the source; it asks for a sharp, high-quality color print. | Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, photo requirements |
| United Kingdom passport, paper form | 35 x 45 mm | 29 to 34 mm, crown to chin | plain cream or light grey | Not accepted. Photos must be printed to a professional standard and not cut down from a larger picture. Online applications use a digital photo instead. | GOV.UK, Get a passport photo |
| Australia passport | 35 to 40 x 45 to 50 mm | 32 to 36 mm, chin to crown | plain white or light grey | Not accepted. Prints must be made by dye sublimation, not an inkjet printer, on glossy paper of at least 200 gsm. | Australian Passport Office, photo guidelines |
| Canada passport | 50 x 70 mm (2 x 2 3/4 in) | 31 to 36 mm, chin to crown | plain white or light-colored | Not accepted. Taken by a commercial photographer or photo studio; photos printed at home are not accepted. | Government of Canada, Passport photo requirements |
India is not listed: its official pages give different sizes. Rules change, so open the source before you print.
What the Guides Mean
The vertical line marks the middle of the photo. For the 2 x 2 in and 33 x 48 mm sizes, two ovals show the smallest and largest head height the official rules allow, from the chin to the top of the head. Keep the head between them. For other sizes the head rules differ by country, so there are no ovals.
The tool does not remove the background, fix the lighting or look at the face. It crops and repeats the photo exactly as you set it, at 300 dots per inch.

Questions
Is my photo uploaded
No. The photo is cropped and placed by your browser, and the PDF is made on your device.
What paper should I use
Photo paper. The U.S. accepts matte or glossy photo-quality paper; China visa photos must be on glossy photo paper.
Why is my printed photo the wrong size
The print dialog scaled the page. Print at 100 percent, also called Actual size, and turn off Fit to page.
Can I take the photo myself
Ask someone to take it from a few steps away with the camera at eye level. A selfie at arm's length is usually too close. Some offices require a photographer: see the table above.
